‘Antique Roses’ is a two-color quilt. The roses are a vintage print on a red background, and I used a tan fabric on the “light side” pathway of the quilt. All the roses, leaves and vines are quilted in burgundy thread. The back of the quilt is a traditional cream color muslin. The length of the quilt can be folded up over the pillows, and the roses are quilted across it, as well as at the bottom border, finished with diagonal quilted lines. The quilt measures 96 inches wide and 106 inches long. (the bottom border is folded up over the footboard to show the quilting).

An amazing design by Lancaster’s renowned designer. Note the abundance of quilting surrounding the focal center applique work. The background fabric are all in shades of neutrals as well as the backing print is in eggshell. Quilted by an Amish friend. Signed and dated by its designer. Copyright pattern — no directions are available. A fine eggshell 100% cotton fabric covers the back of the quilt. The quilting density is very good, averaging about 130 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The stitching is very good with about 9 stitches per inch. The quilt has a small documentation tag sewn into the back side of the quilt documenting the maker, fabric content, date, name of pattern, and a note about being made in America, quilted by an Amish friend. Excellent choice! A high quality quilt.

This Cathedral Window is a gorgeous, timeless heirloom! It captures the inspiration of a beautiful church window, allowing us to have a little part of a cathedral in our homes, especially if you hold it up to the light. This is not the same as a traditional quilt as it has no batting- with so many layers of folded fabric, batting is not necessary. A very difficult and time consuming design! The backing is also muslin that is part of the folded process. This Cathedral Window quilt is VERY well sewn by machine. The quilt is finished beautifully with triangles on the edges. Pictured on a queen size bed using queen size pillows.
