  • Here is a new fresh quilt rearranged into pinwheels similar to the quilt called Fresh from the book “Simply Retro”. Included with the quilt are two matching pillow shams. The concept of retro means reminiscent of things past which is so fitting with the pinwheels reminding us all of the windmills of the past generation. Here is a gentle reminder of our heritage again in a beautiful hand quilted quilt. Here C Jean Horst used the fabric collections of beautiful granite grays and whites in 100% cottons!  (photo taken on queen size bed)

(See below) Linking Hearts is a rather complex quilt design due to the many 100% cotton fabrics used and the design not being a uniform typical block patchwork pattern. • Extra special work! Bargello quilts, inspired originally by a traditional needlepoint stitch, are popular as a contemporary design. Instead of embroidery stitches, simple rectangular blocks of colored fabric, which appear to gradually shift in size and placement, imitate the needlework pattern. Varying widths of pieced blocks from a 1/4 inch sliver to a sturdy 2 inch block produce a gradual wave, sloping and shifting from left to right. By selecting mutely colored fabrics, C Jean Horst shifted the colors gently. Cascading lines of fine quilting further enhance the image. Beautifully pieced and quilted with 8 stitches per inch and every row quilted. A masterpiece! The backing is a beautiful batik that matches the binding ages. A sleeve is added so that it could be hung as shown. 100% Cotton fabrics. A great size for a wall attraction.
