    This beautiful quilt has a very striking star in the central design and its navy and teal points in the star radiate out to give the star an almost splintered look. The fabrics are so beautiful and blend nicely with the beautiful pieced borders. Look closely and you will see that the border has borrowed 1/4 of the star parts from the center design to dance around its outside edges. The outer border is navy and the inner is a beautiful paisley.  Magnificent design that is simply beautiful. 100% cotton fabrics in the entire quilt. The hand-quilted stitches measure 8 stitches per inch. The backing of this quilt is also 100% cotton and is a beautiful very light teal paisley print. Pattern design by Dolores Yoder.

    This quilt is a versatile size in that it can be used as a queen with shams or it can be turned the 113 width to completely cover the king bed with a 18″ drop and the quilt going up to the headboard without a pillow tuck over the pillows.  The shams will fit 20 x 36 ” pillows.

The watercolor  quilt – the Journey, was designed at that time as a full scale quilt!! This is a beauty of 24 100% quality cotton batiks used for the background pattern and then more added bright batiks in machine appliqué for the butterflies on the quilt top. It is a spectacular coming together of precise piecing, hand applique, and machine quilting. The hand quilting has 8-9 exceptional stitches per inch and notice the theme of butterflies quilted into the quilting design on the middle border AND the batik butterfly print in the outer border! This is certainly an heirloom piece – not your usual quilt.
