  • A Postage Stamp Irish Chain is exactly what is says.  The blocks are 1" x 1" - the size of a postage stamp, and the layout is similar to an Irish Chain but so much more involved for the piecer!!  The use of many prints makes this an interesting look of 100% cotton prints.  The main colors are tan, black and gold.  The backing is a beautiful fern sprig tan print in 100% cotton also.  The hand stitched quilting is especially tiny at 9 stitches per inch.
  • A bold design with a great collection of dk teal, gray and silver on white fabrics selected to make a razor sharp image in a log cabin style pattern-- but logs are around a diamond instead of a square in the center of each patch. Very well pieced!   Be sure to note the interesting quilting surrounding the star on the borders. The 100% cotton fabrics  are all carefully chosen to blend into the next.  Very well made by a local Amish woman in her home.  The backing is a beautiful gray fern print and the hand quilting is 8 and 9 stitches per inch.  Very fine stitches.  Lovely statement for sure.

  • Just picture yourself following the crashing waves along the rocky shores of your dream beach town.  This bargello is a beautiful display of a creative use of batik colors of neutrals, teals, and blues ad purples that represents the surf song created as you imagine yourself following the waves of the ocean.   It's a new pattern that we love and it is certainly a splendid use of the beautiful batiks as well as the expertness of the Amish seamstress who measured twice and cut once.    It is also hand quilted and the hand stitches are beautifully even.   The outer border of this quilt reminds me of a coral reef with interesting pattern design.  The backing is a light aqua print.  So beautiful and unique.
  • Here is a beautiful queen size Trip Around the World quilt that will remind you of the deep blues of the ocean. This quilt is great to decorate around with lots of blue shades and  options. • The Lone Star quilt is likely one of the most recognizable quilt patterns to Americans.  It is also one of the oldest patterns.  The Amish love the large central star pattern and make their fair share of them.  Its  a beautiful but difficult design to get all the corners meeting at the points of the diamonds.  This is a beautiful example of precision piecing with the use of 12 quilters fabrics for the star. The backing of the quilt is done with a cream solid color fabric and the hand quilting stitches are counted at 8 per inch.  A Beauty of a quilt with the extra quilting designs that show up so lovely on the bed top as well as the side drop.

  • Thanks to geometry, this fan lays right into the same space as you see the log cabin diamond star pattern by the number 21084.  This quilt is a beautiful collection of 100% cotton fabrics in navy, blue, gray/silver and the pattern has a white background.  Very sharp colors with a dotted gray backing on the quilt.  The stitches are beautiful and are counting in at 8 stitches per inch.  This is a beautiful pattern too.
  • What is a Stack and Whack??   It's so fun to do....Here is a quilt making style that uses one fabric and layers the same exact repeat on top of each other 8 times.  The triangles are cut through a floral fabric to make 8 exact pieces which are sewn together for one patch.  As you cut across the fabric for more patches you will be getting many different areas of a large print fabric which turns out to be a surprise every time!  Here this design has a fun zebra print on the binding as well as added to the corners of the patches at various places.  The hand quilting is done well and is 7 stitches per inch.  The backing is a soft blue and yellow print shows on the one photo.  Don't forget to double click on each thumbnail to bring them up to full size and see the uniqueness of each block.  This throw even has a sleeve for hanging already in place so that's a great possibility.
  • Here is a bright Amish colored  wall quilt or throw that mimics the solid Amish colors that the ladies and men and even children wear in their clothing.  They love black and the bright solid colors.   The quilt has a sleeve for hanging already attached and the stitching is very small at 8 stitches per inch.  This pattern is actually also called Roman Stripes but done in Amish solid colors it is truly an Amish quilt.   The backing is also 100% cotton and is black.  Signed and dated by CJH of Lancaster County.
