Another new original C Jean Horst design. The reality of life being a journey seemed to come together when a friend's husband passed away at an early age with cancer. The wall quilt - the Journey, was designed at that time. And now we have the full size quilts!! Available in queen and king size in this pattern done on a background of my favored Bargello Wave pattern design. This is a beauty of 24 100% quality cotton batiks used for the quilt and more bright batiks added to machine appliqué the butterflies onto the quilt top. It is a spectacular coming together of precise piecing, machine applique, and hand quilting. The hand quilting has 7 - 8 stitches per inch and has a theme of butterflies quilted into the quilting design on the border too. This is an heirloom piece - not your usual quilt.

Here is a beautiful King size Trip Around the World quilt. This pattern is similar to the Postage Stamp quilts that have 36 fabrics and patches cut and sewn leaving a 1 " block. This Colorsplash quilt is using 24 fabrics, cut and sewn so each block is 1 1/2" square making this more economical to make. What a beautiful slate blue and gold vintage combination of 24 different fabrics selected by C Jean Horst. Made by a local Amish woman -- note the careful patchwork piecing and the fine quilting. This quilt is symmetric meaning all borders are equal on all 4 sides. Makes a stunning quilt to hang.
