It is hard to imagine that patchwork quilts could be so wondrously varied in design and coloring as they are here in Lancaster. While some traditional Amish designs are made to be reproductions of 18th and 19th Century quilts, most quilts are created with goal of being more lovely than what was made before. Consequently there are many differing and unique renditions of even the most traditional patchwork patterns.
Many of the quilts shown here are marked indicating that they are “available now” for shipment –we are usually able to ship quilts so marked no later than the next business day. Other quilts shown have been sold, but often we are able to find a very similar well-made quilt that can be shipped quickly. Alternatively we can arrange for a similar quilt to be custom made.
Take your time looking through our galleries, there is a lot to see. We try to show respects for the quilts and the quilters by properly showing them.

Colorsplash
$1,395Here is a beautiful Queen size Trip Around the World quilt that will remind you of the pastel colors of spring budding trees and flowers. This quilt is great to decorate around with lots of color options. This Colorsplash quilt is using 24 fabrics, cut and sewn so each block is 1 1/2″ square. What a beautiful combination of 24 different soft pastel fabrics selected by C Jean Horst. Sewn by a local Amish woman — note the careful patchwork piecing and the fine quilting. A 100% beautiful pale tan/yellow cotton covers the back of the quilt shown on one of the photos. The quilting density is more than adequate, averaging about 75 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The stitching is very good with about 8 stitches per inch. The back corner tag has the documentation recorded of the name of the pattern, the maker, the fabric content, the area, and a note about made in America. This is a beauty! A high quality quilt. -
A queen size quilt that has an excellent combination of skills. It is an original design by C Jean Horst, using needle turn appliqué, machine piecing, decorative hand quilting and great 100% quilters cotton fabrics in shades of plums, and greens in a tasteful combination. An amazing design by Lancaster’s renowned designer. Note the abundance of quilting surrounding the focal center applique work. The background fabric is a fine light tan print. Quilted by an Amish friend. Signed and dated by its designer. Copyright pattern — no directions are available. A fine ivory tone on tone 100% cotton fabric covers the back of the quilt. The quilting density is very good, averaging about 130 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The stitching is very good with about 8-9 stitches per inch. The quilt has a small documentation tag sewn into the back side of the quilt documenting the maker, fabric content, date, name of pattern, and a note about being made in America, quilted by an Amish friend. Excellent choice!

Nine Patch Charm
$1,595This is a brand new quilt arranged by C Jean Horst that is so exquisite with its hundreds of yards of hand quilting thread – this one has 693 yards of hand quilting with 8-9 stitches per inch – roughly 200,000 stitches!!! Really !! It is exceptionally heavily hand quilted with feathers – large and small, and also a charming and beautiful heavily quilted border design. The white background, even though it is a tiny tone on tone 100% quilter’s cotton print, shows up all the stitches and designs so nicely. While being a traditional patchwork pattern, Jean has transformed it into an heirloom quality quilt due to the exceptional yardage of hand quilting displaying feather circles and feather plumes. The backing is also 100% quilters cotton tone on tone white like used on the top side. There are 8-9 stitches of hand quilting per inch of this quilt. Magnificent. -
