The back of the quilt is covered with a beautiful batik cream print of 100% cotton fabric shown on one of the photo shots. The quilting density is good, averaging about 100 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The hand quilting is wonderful with 8 tiny stitches per inch and the quilt has a back corner tag that documents the name of the quilt pattern, designer, fabric content and made in USA by our Amish friends. -

Storm at Sea
$1,495The Storm at Sea vividly depicts the rolling waves of a stormy sea. Surprisingly, the illusion of waves is created by a few geometric shapes – squares, triangles, rectangles and diamonds. Here, C Jean Horst changed the color pallet to emphasize different elements within the design which resulted in twinkling and stunning stars and wavy lines, creating a new look for an old design. This in an interesting old scriptural-based pattern taken from Mark 4:37-39 NIV where Jesus calms the Storm when he said “Quiet! Be still!” and the wind died down and it was completely calm. Lovely heirloom with comforting history of the pattern. -

This is a brand new quilt arranged by C Jean Horst that is so exquisite with its hundreds of yards of hand quilting thread. It is exceptionally heavily hand quilted with feathers – large and small, and also a charming and beautiful heavily quilted border design. The cream background, even though it is a tiny tone on tone 100% quilter’s cotton print, shows up all the stitches and designs so nicely. While being a traditional patchwork pattern, Jean has transformed it into an heirloom quality quilt due to the exceptional yardage of hand quilting displayed.

Here is a new fresh quilt rearranged into pinwheels similar to the quilt called Fresh from the book “Simply Retro”. Included with the quilt are two king size pillow shams. The concept of retro means reminiscent of things past which is so fitting with the pinwheels reminding us all of the windmills of the past generation. Here is a gentle reminder of our heritage again in a beautiful hand quilted quilt. Here C Jean Horst used the fabric collections from PB Textiles collection called Classical Elements. Beautiful grays and whites in 100% cottons!

Perfect! Flying Geese going North – Flying Geese going South – Spring is announcing that it is just around the corner? An amazing assortment of navy and burgundy prints by C Jean Horst, Lancaster renowned designer. This is a work of art and a beautiful arrangement of color against a nice mixture of tone on tone fabrics. Interesting!

Wow! C Jean Horst has outdone herself with this quilt which includes 2 queen size pillow shams to match — 36 very rich 100% cotton prints are used and the patchwork is made up of over 6205 pieces. Lovely and amazing. Squares are about 1″ x 1″ sewn which is why it is called a Postage Stamp. Made here in Lancaster by an Amish woman. Note the precision of the patchwork piecing.
