The star radiates out to give the star an almost splintered look. The fabrics are so beautiful and blend nicely with the beautiful pieced borders. Look closely and you will see that the border has borrowed 1/4 of the star parts from the center design to dance around its outside edges on all 4 sides. Magnificent design that is simply beautiful. 100% cotton fabrics in the entire quilt. The hand-quilted stitches measure 8 stitches per inch. Fabrics and colors selected by a Mennonite woman and quilted by a Amish women. Was pieced by a 93 yr. Amish woman and sewed on an old treadle machine. So a lot of details went into this quilt.
