Patchwork Quilts

It is hard to imagine that patchwork quilts could be so wondrously varied in design and coloring as they are here in Lancaster. While some traditional Amish designs are made to be reproductions of 18th and 19th Century quilts, most quilts are created with goal of being more lovely than what was made before. Consequently there are many differing and unique renditions of even the most traditional patchwork patterns.

Many of the quilts shown here are marked indicating that they are “available now” for shipment –we are usually able to ship quilts so marked no later than the next business day. Other quilts shown have been sold, but often we are able to find a very similar well-made quilt that can be shipped quickly. Alternatively we can arrange for a similar quilt to be custom made.

Take your time looking through our galleries, there is a lot to see. We try to show respects for the quilts and the quilters by properly showing them.

  • A classic log cabin quilt in lovely shades of blue. Perfect for a crib quilt or wall hanging. The fabrics blend together beautifully. None of the prints are overly floral with most being a leafy print. The back of the quilt is covered with the same dot fabric as used on the border. Well made by Pennsylvania Mennonite quilt maker, Connie Lapp, and delicately hand quilted by a Mennonite friend. This quilt is sure to be a treasured heirloom!
  • A wonderful variation on the classic Ocean Wave design with a great combination of bold and subdued fabrics. Note the care taken with the patchwork piecing and the fine abundant quilting. Made by an Amish woman from northeastern Indiana and quilted by an Amish neighbor. Initials of both women are quilted into the sash along with the year. The sash is light pink. Part of the “Quilts Remembered Collection”. Includes a sleeve for a hanging rod. This quilt would look great used as a wall hanging or an extra special crib quilt.
  • A great quilt for Christmas or any time of the year! Beautiful Christmas fabrics in quieter tones than most Christmas quilts. Very well pieced. Be sure to notice the incredibly tiny hand quilted stitches! Made by a Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Amish woman.
  • Wonderful take on the patchwork Christmas tree. We especially like the use of the triangular pieces and the superb fabric selections. The boughs are realistic dark mossy green. The golden star glistens and the tree looks as if it were freshly cut from a forest! Made by a local Amish woman. Includes a sleeve for a hanging rod. A wonderful quilt for your foyer.
  • This quilt has all the soothing colors of the seashore! Notice the great fabrics with starfish and sand dollars. The back of the quilt is covered with a great seashore theme fabric. The quilt’s fabrics were chosen and neatly pieced by Lancaster County, PA young Mennonite quilt designer Connie Lapp. It was nicely hand quilted by her mother. This quilt would be great as a crib quilt, throw or wall hanging. The perfect quilt for someone who lives by or longs for the shore.
  • Great colors that would be gorgeous for Christmas or anytime of the year! A classic Irish Chain pattern perfectly pieced. Made by young Lancaster County, Pennsylvania quilt designer Connie Lapp and nicely hand quilted by her mother. The back of the quilt is covered with the same aqua fabric as used on the front. Would make a great throw, wall hanging or crib quilt.
  • Classic Irish Chain! Perfect in it’s simplicity! A beautiful shade of blue with little white dots. White background fabric has very subtle white dots. Notice the nice hand quilting. Very well made by Lancaster County, PA young Mennonite quilt designer Connie Lapp and hand quilted by her mother. The fabric on the back of the quilt is the same white with white dots as used on the front. (Fabric no longer available.)
  • Very attractive fabric combination by local Mennonite quilt designer Connie Lapp. Classic Irish Chain nicely pieced and quilted. Large enough to be easily used as a throw. The quilt top was made by Connie and her mother did the quilting.
