Stars and Striped fabrics are combined in this charming, red, white and blue patriotic quilt. Four patchwork hearts are framed with a small red diamond border. Fun fabrics include tiny flags and stars which have been combined to create this Americana piece. Notice the fine hand-quilting which nicely accents the design along with the embroidery stitching around the stars. This is the perfect quilt for anyone who loves our country. A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch have been included on the back of the quilt.

Stars, flowers and berries seem to spring out of a red heart in the center block of Karel’s original design called Star Flower. Her signature triple border and corner squares nicely frame the center block. Take note of the fine hand quilting in the triangles around the center design as well as the beautiful hand appliqué throughout the design. The traditional pieced star block is called Sarah’s choice and a variation of the log cabin block flank each side of the star and berries border. Karel enjoys mixing many different fabrics in her quilts to give them a “scrappy” look and this quilt is a great example of that. A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

This stunning new quilt was inspired by Karel’s favorite time of the year, late summer, and all the beauty of flowers in her yard. From sunflowers to zinnias, warm hues in golds, reds, oranges and plums play well together. The flowers are wool and are embellished with embroidery stitching with a Dresden plate at the very center. To create added interest, she used a number of different neutral prints for the center background square. The quilt is bordered in a green printed fabric to symbolize the color of leaves and how well this color goes with all the colors in nature. A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
