The fabrics are so beautiful and blend nicely with the beautiful pieced borders. Look closely and you will see that the border has borrowed 1/4 of the star parts from the center design to dance around its outside edges on all 4 sides. Magnificent design that is simply beautiful. 100% cotton fabrics in the entire quilt. The hand-quilted stitches measure 8 stitches per inch. The backing of this quilt (shown of one of photos) is also 100% cotton and is a beautiful medium gray print. Pattern design by Dolores Yoder.

Hand quilted diamonds called cross-hatching has been used on the floral background triangles that surround the center block. A graceful wreath is the focal point of this stunning small quilt. Tulips, buds and flowers are combined in a pleasing arrangement with corner appliqué blocks radiating out from the center wreath. The ribbon star blocks make a bold statement as they frame the central wreath and next comes a checkerboard border just to set it all off. Karel chose to use civil war reproduction fabrics because the tiny prints lend themselves so well to the small appliqué pieces. The variety of fabrics includes stripes, florals and geometrics that add extra interest to the quilt. As you can see from the border, the hand-quilting is beautiful as well.
