Hand quilted diamonds called cross-hatching has been used on the floral background triangles that surround the center block.  All the elements of this design come together in such a delightful way in this classic quilt.     A graceful wreath is the focal point of this stunning small quilt.  Tulips, buds and flowers are combined in a pleasing arrangement with corner appliqué blocks radiating out from the center wreath.  The ribbon star blocks make a bold statement as they frame the central wreath and next comes a checkerboard border just to set it all off.  Karel chose to use civil war reproduction fabrics because the tiny prints lend themselves so well to the small appliqué pieces.  The variety of fabrics includes stripes, florals and geometrics that add extra interest to the quilt.  As you can see from the border, the hand-quilting is beautiful as well.
